CVE-2020-1938 7 Apache, Blackberry, Debian and 4 more 21 Geode, Tomcat, Good Control and 18 more 2024-07-24 7.5 HIGH 9.8 CRITICAL
When using the Apache JServ Protocol (AJP), care must be taken when trusting incoming connections to Apache Tomcat. Tomcat treats AJP connections as having higher trust than, for example, a similar HTTP connection. If such connections are available to an attacker, they can be exploited in ways that may be surprising. In Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.0.30, 8.5.0 to 8.5.50 and 7.0.0 to 7.0.99, Tomcat shipped with an AJP Connector enabled by default that listened on all configured IP addresses. It was expected (and recommended in the security guide) that this Connector would be disabled if not required. This vulnerability report identified a mechanism that allowed: - returning arbitrary files from anywhere in the web application - processing any file in the web application as a JSP Further, if the web application allowed file upload and stored those files within the web application (or the attacker was able to control the content of the web application by some other means) then this, along with the ability to process a file as a JSP, made remote code execution possible. It is important to note that mitigation is only required if an AJP port is accessible to untrusted users. Users wishing to take a defence-in-depth approach and block the vector that permits returning arbitrary files and execution as JSP may upgrade to Apache Tomcat 9.0.31, 8.5.51 or 7.0.100 or later. A number of changes were made to the default AJP Connector configuration in 9.0.31 to harden the default configuration. It is likely that users upgrading to 9.0.31, 8.5.51 or 7.0.100 or later will need to make small changes to their configurations.
CVE-2017-12617 6 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 3 more 58 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 55 more 2024-07-16 6.8 MEDIUM 8.1 HIGH
When running Apache Tomcat versions 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.0, 8.5.0 to 8.5.22, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.46 and 7.0.0 to 7.0.81 with HTTP PUTs enabled (e.g. via setting the readonly initialisation parameter of the Default servlet to false) it was possible to upload a JSP file to the server via a specially crafted request. This JSP could then be requested and any code it contained would be executed by the server.
CVE-2016-8735 6 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 3 more 19 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 16 more 2024-06-27 7.5 HIGH 9.8 CRITICAL
Remote code execution is possible with Apache Tomcat before 6.0.48, 7.x before 7.0.73, 8.x before 8.0.39, 8.5.x before 8.5.7, and 9.x before 9.0.0.M12 if JmxRemoteLifecycleListener is used and an attacker can reach JMX ports. The issue exists because this listener wasn't updated for consistency with the CVE-2016-3427 Oracle patch that affected credential types.
CVE-2019-0227 2 Apache, Oracle 37 Axis, Agile Engineering Data Management, Agile Product Lifecycle Management Framework and 34 more 2024-06-21 5.4 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
A Server Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability affected the Apache Axis 1.4 distribution that was last released in 2006. Security and bug commits commits continue in the projects Axis 1.x Subversion repository, legacy users are encouraged to build from source. The successor to Axis 1.x is Axis2, the latest version is 1.7.9 and is not vulnerable to this issue.
CVE-2018-8032 3 Apache, Debian, Oracle 38 Axis, Debian Linux, Agile Engineering Data Management and 35 more 2024-06-21 4.3 MEDIUM 6.1 MEDIUM
Apache Axis 1.x up to and including 1.4 is vulnerable to a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack in the default servlet/services.
CVE-2020-9484 7 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 4 more 26 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 23 more 2024-02-28 4.4 MEDIUM 7.0 HIGH
When using Apache Tomcat versions 10.0.0-M1 to 10.0.0-M4, 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.34, 8.5.0 to 8.5.54 and 7.0.0 to 7.0.103 if a) an attacker is able to control the contents and name of a file on the server; and b) the server is configured to use the PersistenceManager with a FileStore; and c) the PersistenceManager is configured with sessionAttributeValueClassNameFilter="null" (the default unless a SecurityManager is used) or a sufficiently lax filter to allow the attacker provided object to be deserialized; and d) the attacker knows the relative file path from the storage location used by FileStore to the file the attacker has control over; then, using a specifically crafted request, the attacker will be able to trigger remote code execution via deserialization of the file under their control. Note that all of conditions a) to d) must be true for the attack to succeed.
CVE-2019-17359 4 Apache, Bouncycastle, Netapp and 1 more 21 Tomee, Legion-of-the-bouncy-castle-java-crytography-api, Active Iq Unified Manager and 18 more 2024-02-28 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
The ASN.1 parser in Bouncy Castle Crypto (aka BC Java) 1.63 can trigger a large attempted memory allocation, and resultant OutOfMemoryError error, via crafted ASN.1 data. This is fixed in 1.64.
CVE-2019-17569 5 Apache, Debian, Netapp and 2 more 16 Tomcat, Tomee, Debian Linux and 13 more 2024-02-28 5.8 MEDIUM 4.8 MEDIUM
The refactoring present in Apache Tomcat 9.0.28 to 9.0.30, 8.5.48 to 8.5.50 and 7.0.98 to 7.0.99 introduced a regression. The result of the regression was that invalid Transfer-Encoding headers were incorrectly processed leading to a possibility of HTTP Request Smuggling if Tomcat was located behind a reverse proxy that incorrectly handled the invalid Transfer-Encoding header in a particular manner. Such a reverse proxy is considered unlikely.
CVE-2020-1935 6 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 3 more 20 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 17 more 2024-02-28 5.8 MEDIUM 4.8 MEDIUM
In Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.30, 8.5.0 to 8.5.50 and 7.0.0 to 7.0.99 the HTTP header parsing code used an approach to end-of-line parsing that allowed some invalid HTTP headers to be parsed as valid. This led to a possibility of HTTP Request Smuggling if Tomcat was located behind a reverse proxy that incorrectly handled the invalid Transfer-Encoding header in a particular manner. Such a reverse proxy is considered unlikely.
CVE-2019-11358 11 Backdropcms, Debian, Drupal and 8 more 105 Backdrop, Debian Linux, Drupal and 102 more 2024-02-28 4.3 MEDIUM 6.1 MEDIUM
jQuery before 3.4.0, as used in Drupal, Backdrop CMS, and other products, mishandles jQuery.extend(true, {}, ...) because of Object.prototype pollution. If an unsanitized source object contained an enumerable __proto__ property, it could extend the native Object.prototype.
CVE-2019-10247 4 Debian, Eclipse, Netapp and 1 more 26 Debian Linux, Jetty, Element and 23 more 2024-02-28 5.0 MEDIUM 5.3 MEDIUM
In Eclipse Jetty version 7.x, 8.x, 9.2.27 and older, 9.3.26 and older, and 9.4.16 and older, the server running on any OS and Jetty version combination will reveal the configured fully qualified directory base resource location on the output of the 404 error for not finding a Context that matches the requested path. The default server behavior on jetty-distribution and jetty-home will include at the end of the Handler tree a DefaultHandler, which is responsible for reporting this 404 error, it presents the various configured contexts as HTML for users to click through to. This produced HTML includes output that contains the configured fully qualified directory base resource location for each context.
CVE-2019-10246 4 Eclipse, Microsoft, Netapp and 1 more 26 Jetty, Windows, Element and 23 more 2024-02-28 5.0 MEDIUM 5.3 MEDIUM
In Eclipse Jetty version 9.2.27, 9.3.26, and 9.4.16, the server running on Windows is vulnerable to exposure of the fully qualified Base Resource directory name on Windows to a remote client when it is configured for showing a Listing of directory contents. This information reveal is restricted to only the content in the configured base resource directories.
CVE-2019-0190 3 Apache, Openssl, Oracle 6 Http Server, Openssl, Enterprise Manager Ops Center and 3 more 2024-02-28 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
A bug exists in the way mod_ssl handled client renegotiations. A remote attacker could send a carefully crafted request that would cause mod_ssl to enter a loop leading to a denial of service. This bug can be only triggered with Apache HTTP Server version 2.4.37 when using OpenSSL version 1.1.1 or later, due to an interaction in changes to handling of renegotiation attempts.
CVE-2018-11784 6 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 3 more 15 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 12 more 2024-02-28 4.3 MEDIUM 4.3 MEDIUM
When the default servlet in Apache Tomcat versions 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.11, 8.5.0 to 8.5.33 and 7.0.23 to 7.0.90 returned a redirect to a directory (e.g. redirecting to '/foo/' when the user requested '/foo') a specially crafted URL could be used to cause the redirect to be generated to any URI of the attackers choice.
CVE-2018-17189 7 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 4 more 13 Http Server, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 10 more 2024-02-28 5.0 MEDIUM 5.3 MEDIUM
In Apache HTTP server versions 2.4.37 and prior, by sending request bodies in a slow loris way to plain resources, the h2 stream for that request unnecessarily occupied a server thread cleaning up that incoming data. This affects only HTTP/2 (mod_http2) connections.
CVE-2018-11763 5 Apache, Canonical, Netapp and 2 more 9 Http Server, Ubuntu Linux, Storage Automation Store and 6 more 2024-02-28 4.3 MEDIUM 5.9 MEDIUM
In Apache HTTP Server 2.4.17 to 2.4.34, by sending continuous, large SETTINGS frames a client can occupy a connection, server thread and CPU time without any connection timeout coming to effect. This affects only HTTP/2 connections. A possible mitigation is to not enable the h2 protocol.
