CVE-2021-38160 4 Debian, Linux, Netapp and 1 more 9 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel, Element Software and 6 more 2024-08-27 7.2 HIGH 7.8 HIGH
In drivers/char/virtio_console.c in the Linux kernel before 5.13.4, data corruption or loss can be triggered by an untrusted device that supplies a buf->len value exceeding the buffer size. NOTE: the vendor indicates that the cited data corruption is not a vulnerability in any existing use case; the length validation was added solely for robustness in the face of anomalous host OS behavior
CVE-2024-0562 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2024-08-27 N/A 7.8 HIGH
A use-after-free flaw was found in the Linux Kernel. When a disk is removed, bdi_unregister is called to stop further write-back and waits for associated delayed work to complete. However, wb_inode_writeback_end() may schedule bandwidth estimation work after this has completed, which can result in the timer attempting to access the recently freed bdi_writeback.
CVE-2023-39191 3 Fedoraproject, Linux, Redhat 3 Fedora, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2024-08-21 N/A 8.2 HIGH
An improper input validation flaw was found in the eBPF subsystem in the Linux kernel. The issue occurs due to a lack of proper validation of dynamic pointers within user-supplied eBPF programs prior to executing them. This may allow an attacker with CAP_BPF privileges to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of the kernel.
CVE-2023-44487 32 Akka, Amazon, Apache and 29 more 311 Http Server, Opensearch Data Prepper, Apisix and 308 more 2024-08-14 N/A 7.5 HIGH
The HTTP/2 protocol allows a denial of service (server resource consumption) because request cancellation can reset many streams quickly, as exploited in the wild in August through October 2023.
CVE-2023-6228 2 Libtiff, Redhat 2 Libtiff, Enterprise Linux 2024-08-07 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
An issue was found in the tiffcp utility distributed by the libtiff package where a crafted TIFF file on processing may cause a heap-based buffer overflow leads to an application crash.
CVE-2007-1865 1 Redhat 1 Enterprise Linux 2024-08-07 1.9 LOW N/A
The ipv6_getsockopt_sticky function in the kernel in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Beta 5.1.0 allows local users to obtain sensitive information (kernel memory contents) via a negative value of the len parameter. NOTE: this issue has been disputed in a bug comment, stating that "len is ignored when copying header info to the user's buffer.
CVE-2015-2877 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2024-08-06 2.1 LOW 3.3 LOW
Kernel Samepage Merging (KSM) in the Linux kernel 2.6.32 through 4.x does not prevent use of a write-timing side channel, which allows guest OS users to defeat the ASLR protection mechanism on other guest OS instances via a Cross-VM ASL INtrospection (CAIN) attack. NOTE: the vendor states "Basically if you care about this attack vector, disable deduplication." Share-until-written approaches for memory conservation among mutually untrusting tenants are inherently detectable for information disclosure, and can be classified as potentially misunderstood behaviors rather than vulnerabilities
CVE-2019-19076 3 Canonical, Linux, Redhat 3 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2024-08-05 7.1 HIGH 5.9 MEDIUM
A memory leak in the nfp_abm_u32_knode_replace() function in drivers/net/ethernet/netronome/nfp/abm/cls.c in the Linux kernel before 5.3.6 allows attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption), aka CID-78beef629fd9. NOTE: This has been argued as not a valid vulnerability. The upstream commit 78beef629fd9 was reverted
CVE-2019-16229 3 Canonical, Linux, Redhat 3 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2024-08-05 4.7 MEDIUM 4.1 MEDIUM
drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdkfd/kfd_interrupt.c in the Linux kernel 5.2.14 does not check the alloc_workqueue return value, leading to a NULL pointer dereference. NOTE: The security community disputes this issues as not being serious enough to be deserving a CVE id
CVE-2019-10143 3 Fedoraproject, Freeradius, Redhat 3 Fedora, Freeradius, Enterprise Linux 2024-08-04 6.9 MEDIUM 7.0 HIGH
It was discovered freeradius up to and including version 3.0.19 does not correctly configure logrotate, allowing a local attacker who already has control of the radiusd user to escalate his privileges to root, by tricking logrotate into writing a radiusd-writable file to a directory normally inaccessible by the radiusd user. NOTE: the upstream software maintainer has stated "there is simply no way for anyone to gain privileges through this alleged issue."
CVE-2023-5625 1 Redhat 6 Enterprise Linux, Openshift Container Platform For Arm64, Openshift Container Platform For Linuxone and 3 more 2024-08-01 N/A 7.5 HIGH
A regression was introduced in the Red Hat build of python-eventlet due to a change in the patch application strategy, resulting in a patch for CVE-2021-21419 not being applied for all builds of all products.
CVE-2019-0211 8 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 5 more 27 Http Server, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 24 more 2024-07-25 7.2 HIGH 7.8 HIGH
In Apache HTTP Server 2.4 releases 2.4.17 to 2.4.38, with MPM event, worker or prefork, code executing in less-privileged child processes or threads (including scripts executed by an in-process scripting interpreter) could execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the parent process (usually root) by manipulating the scoreboard. Non-Unix systems are not affected.
CVE-2010-1871 2 Netapp, Redhat 5 Oncommand Balance, Oncommand Insight, Oncommand Unified Manager and 2 more 2024-07-24 6.8 MEDIUM 8.8 HIGH
JBoss Seam 2 (jboss-seam2), as used in JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 4.3.0 for Red Hat Linux, does not properly sanitize inputs for JBoss Expression Language (EL) expressions, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted URL. NOTE: this is only a vulnerability when the Java Security Manager is not properly configured.
CVE-2019-13272 6 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 3 more 25 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 22 more 2024-07-24 7.2 HIGH 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel before 5.1.17, ptrace_link in kernel/ptrace.c mishandles the recording of the credentials of a process that wants to create a ptrace relationship, which allows local users to obtain root access by leveraging certain scenarios with a parent-child process relationship, where a parent drops privileges and calls execve (potentially allowing control by an attacker). One contributing factor is an object lifetime issue (which can also cause a panic). Another contributing factor is incorrect marking of a ptrace relationship as privileged, which is exploitable through (for example) Polkit's pkexec helper with PTRACE_TRACEME. NOTE: SELinux deny_ptrace might be a usable workaround in some environments.
CVE-2014-7169 17 Apple, Arista, Canonical and 14 more 85 Mac Os X, Eos, Ubuntu Linux and 82 more 2024-07-24 10.0 HIGH 9.8 CRITICAL
GNU Bash through 4.3 bash43-025 processes trailing strings after certain malformed function definitions in the values of environment variables, which allows remote attackers to write to files or possibly have unknown other impact via a crafted environment, as demonstrated by vectors involving the ForceCommand feature in OpenSSH sshd, the mod_cgi and mod_cgid modules in the Apache HTTP Server, scripts executed by unspecified DHCP clients, and other situations in which setting the environment occurs across a privilege boundary from Bash execution. NOTE: this vulnerability exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2014-6271.
CVE-2014-6271 17 Apple, Arista, Canonical and 14 more 85 Mac Os X, Eos, Ubuntu Linux and 82 more 2024-07-24 10.0 HIGH 9.8 CRITICAL
GNU Bash through 4.3 processes trailing strings after function definitions in the values of environment variables, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted environment, as demonstrated by vectors involving the ForceCommand feature in OpenSSH sshd, the mod_cgi and mod_cgid modules in the Apache HTTP Server, scripts executed by unspecified DHCP clients, and other situations in which setting the environment occurs across a privilege boundary from Bash execution, aka "ShellShock." NOTE: the original fix for this issue was incorrect; CVE-2014-7169 has been assigned to cover the vulnerability that is still present after the incorrect fix.
CVE-2023-5633 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2024-07-24 N/A 7.8 HIGH
The reference count changes made as part of the CVE-2023-33951 and CVE-2023-33952 fixes exposed a use-after-free flaw in the way memory objects were handled when they were being used to store a surface. When running inside a VMware guest with 3D acceleration enabled, a local, unprivileged user could potentially use this flaw to escalate their privileges.
CVE-2023-33952 2 Linux, Redhat 4 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux For Real Time and 1 more 2024-07-24 N/A 6.7 MEDIUM
A double-free vulnerability was found in handling vmw_buffer_object objects in the vmwgfx driver in the Linux kernel. This issue occurs due to the lack of validating the existence of an object prior to performing further free operations on the object, which may allow a local privileged user to escalate privileges and execute code in the context of the kernel.
CVE-2023-33951 2 Linux, Redhat 4 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux For Real Time and 1 more 2024-07-24 N/A 5.3 MEDIUM
A race condition vulnerability was found in the vmwgfx driver in the Linux kernel. The flaw exists within the handling of GEM objects. The issue results from improper locking when performing operations on an object. This flaw allows a local privileged user to disclose information in the context of the kernel.
CVE-2016-5195 7 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 4 more 18 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 15 more 2024-07-24 7.2 HIGH 7.0 HIGH
Race condition in mm/gup.c in the Linux kernel 2.x through 4.x before 4.8.3 allows local users to gain privileges by leveraging incorrect handling of a copy-on-write (COW) feature to write to a read-only memory mapping, as exploited in the wild in October 2016, aka "Dirty COW."
