CVE-2021-28698 3 Debian, Fedoraproject, Xen 3 Debian Linux, Fedora, Xen 2024-11-21 4.9 MEDIUM 5.5 MEDIUM
long running loops in grant table handling In order to properly monitor resource use, Xen maintains information on the grant mappings a domain may create to map grants offered by other domains. In the process of carrying out certain actions, Xen would iterate over all such entries, including ones which aren't in use anymore and some which may have been created but never used. If the number of entries for a given domain is large enough, this iterating of the entire table may tie up a CPU for too long, starving other domains or causing issues in the hypervisor itself. Note that a domain may map its own grants, i.e. there is no need for multiple domains to be involved here. A pair of "cooperating" guests may, however, cause the effects to be more severe.
CVE-2021-28676 2 Fedoraproject, Python 2 Fedora, Pillow 2024-11-21 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
An issue was discovered in Pillow before 8.2.0. For FLI data, FliDecode did not properly check that the block advance was non-zero, potentially leading to an infinite loop on load.
CVE-2021-28667 2 Python, Stackstorm 2 Python, Stackstorm 2024-11-21 7.1 HIGH 7.5 HIGH
StackStorm before 3.4.1, in some situations, has an infinite loop that consumes all available memory and disk space. This can occur if Python 3.x is used, the locale is not utf-8, and there is an attempt to log Unicode data (from an action or rule name).

CVE-2021-28484 2 Fedoraproject, Yubico 2 Fedora, Yubihsm Connector 2024-11-21 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
An issue was discovered in the /api/connector endpoint handler in Yubico yubihsm-connector before 3.0.1 (in YubiHSM SDK before 2021.04). The handler did not validate the length of the request, which can lead to a state where yubihsm-connector becomes stuck in a loop waiting for the YubiHSM to send it data, preventing any further operations until the yubihsm-connector is restarted. An attacker can send 0, 1, or 2 bytes to trigger this.
CVE-2021-27918 1 Golang 1 Go 2024-11-21 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
encoding/xml in Go before 1.15.9 and 1.16.x before 1.16.1 has an infinite loop if a custom TokenReader (for xml.NewTokenDecoder) returns EOF in the middle of an element. This can occur in the Decode, DecodeElement, or Skip method.
CVE-2021-27565 1 Hcc-embedded 1 Nichestack 2024-11-21 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
The web server in InterNiche NicheStack through 4.0.1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop and networking outage) via an unexpected valid HTTP request such as OPTIONS. This occurs because the HTTP request handler enters a miscoded wbs_loop() debugger hook.

In OpenWrt 19.07.x before 19.07.7, when IPv6 is used, a routing loop can occur that generates excessive network traffic between an affected device and its upstream ISP's router. This occurs when a link prefix route points to a point-to-point link, a destination IPv6 address belongs to the prefix and is not a local IPv6 address, and a router advertisement is received with at least one global unique IPv6 prefix for which the on-link flag is set. This affects the netifd and odhcp6c packages.
CVE-2021-21279 1 Contiki-ng 1 Contiki-ng 2024-11-21 7.8 HIGH 7.5 HIGH
Contiki-NG is an open-source, cross-platform operating system for internet of things devices. In verions prior to 4.6, an attacker can perform a denial-of-service attack by triggering an infinite loop in the processing of IPv6 neighbor solicitation (NS) messages. This type of attack can effectively shut down the operation of the system because of the cooperative scheduling used for the main parts of Contiki-NG and its communication stack. The problem has been patched in Contiki-NG 4.6. Users can apply the patch for this vulnerability out-of-band as a workaround.
