The affected device contains a vulnerability that could allow an unauthenticated attacker to restore the affected device to a point where predefined application and operating system protection mechanisms are not in place. Successful exploitation requires physical access to the system, but no system privileges and no user interaction. An attacker could use the vulnerability to compromise confidentialiy, integrity and availability of the device. At the time of advisory publication no public exploitation of this security vulnerability was known.
CVE-2019-19017 | 1 Titanhq | 1 Webtitan | 2024-11-21 | 9.3 HIGH | 8.1 HIGH |
An issue was discovered in TitanHQ WebTitan before 5.18. The appliance has a hard-coded root password set during installation. An attacker could utilize this to gain root privileges on the system.
CVE-2019-18932 | 2 Opensuse, Squid Analysis Report Generator Project | 3 Backports Sle, Leap, Squid Analysis Report Generator | 2024-11-21 | 4.4 MEDIUM | 7.0 HIGH |
log.c in Squid Analysis Report Generator (sarg) through 2.3.11 allows local privilege escalation. By default, it uses a fixed temporary directory /tmp/sarg. As the root user, sarg creates this directory or reuses an existing one in an insecure manner. An attacker can pre-create the directory, and place symlinks in it (after winning a /tmp/sarg/denied.int_unsort race condition). The outcome will be corrupted or newly created files in privileged file system locations.
CVE-2019-18827 | 1 Barco | 8 Clickshare Cs-100, Clickshare Cs-100 Firmware, Clickshare Cse-200 and 5 more | 2024-11-21 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 5.9 MEDIUM |
On Barco ClickShare Button R9861500D01 devices (before firmware version 1.9.0) JTAG access is disabled after ROM code execution. This means that JTAG access is possible when the system is running code from ROM before handing control over to embedded firmware.
CVE-2019-18684 | 1 Sudo Project | 1 Sudo | 2024-11-21 | 6.9 MEDIUM | 7.0 HIGH |
Sudo through 1.8.29 allows local users to escalate to root if they have write access to file descriptor 3 of the sudo process. This occurs because of a race condition between determining a uid, and the setresuid and openat system calls. The attacker can write "ALL ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD:ALL" to /proc/#####/fd/3 at a time when Sudo is prompting for a password. NOTE: This has been disputed due to the way Linux /proc works. It has been argued that writing to /proc/#####/fd/3 would only be viable if you had permission to write to /etc/sudoers. Even with write permission to /proc/#####/fd/3, it would not help you write to /etc/sudoers
CVE-2019-18683 | 6 Broadcom, Canonical, Debian and 3 more | 23 Fabric Operating System, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 20 more | 2024-11-21 | 6.9 MEDIUM | 7.0 HIGH |
An issue was discovered in drivers/media/platform/vivid in the Linux kernel through 5.3.8. It is exploitable for privilege escalation on some Linux distributions where local users have /dev/video0 access, but only if the driver happens to be loaded. There are multiple race conditions during streaming stopping in this driver (part of the V4L2 subsystem). These issues are caused by wrong mutex locking in vivid_stop_generating_vid_cap(), vivid_stop_generating_vid_out(), sdr_cap_stop_streaming(), and the corresponding kthreads. At least one of these race conditions leads to a use-after-free.
CVE-2019-18421 | 4 Debian, Fedoraproject, Opensuse and 1 more | 4 Debian Linux, Fedora, Leap and 1 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.1 HIGH | 7.5 HIGH |
An issue was discovered in Xen through 4.12.x allowing x86 PV guest OS users to gain host OS privileges by leveraging race conditions in pagetable promotion and demotion operations. There are issues with restartable PV type change operations. To avoid using shadow pagetables for PV guests, Xen exposes the actual hardware pagetables to the guest. In order to prevent the guest from modifying these page tables directly, Xen keeps track of how pages are used using a type system; pages must be "promoted" before being used as a pagetable, and "demoted" before being used for any other type. Xen also allows for "recursive" promotions: i.e., an operating system promoting a page to an L4 pagetable may end up causing pages to be promoted to L3s, which may in turn cause pages to be promoted to L2s, and so on. These operations may take an arbitrarily large amount of time, and so must be re-startable. Unfortunately, making recursive pagetable promotion and demotion operations restartable is incredibly complicated, and the code contains several races which, if triggered, can cause Xen to drop or retain extra type counts, potentially allowing guests to get write access to in-use pagetables. A malicious PV guest administrator may be able to escalate their privilege to that of the host. All x86 systems with untrusted PV guests are vulnerable. HVM and PVH guests cannot exercise this vulnerability.
CVE-2019-17342 | 2 Debian, Xen | 2 Debian Linux, Xen | 2024-11-21 | 4.4 MEDIUM | 7.0 HIGH |
An issue was discovered in Xen through 4.11.x allowing x86 PV guest OS users to cause a denial of service or gain privileges by leveraging a race condition that arose when XENMEM_exchange was introduced.
CVE-2019-17341 | 2 Debian, Xen | 2 Debian Linux, Xen | 2024-11-21 | 6.9 MEDIUM | 7.8 HIGH |
An issue was discovered in Xen through 4.11.x allowing x86 PV guest OS users to cause a denial of service or gain privileges by leveraging a page-writability race condition during addition of a passed-through PCI device.

Under certain conditions, when checking the Resist Fingerprinting preference during device orientation checks, a race condition could have caused a use-after-free and a potentially exploitable crash. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird < 68.3, Firefox ESR < 68.3, and Firefox < 71.
CVE-2019-16779 | 3 Debian, Excon Project, Opensuse | 4 Debian Linux, Excon, Backports Sle and 1 more | 2024-11-21 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 5.8 MEDIUM |
In RubyGem excon before 0.71.0, there was a race condition around persistent connections, where a connection which is interrupted (such as by a timeout) would leave data on the socket. Subsequent requests would then read this data, returning content from the previous response. The race condition window appears to be short, and it would be difficult to purposefully exploit this.
CVE-2019-16354 | 1 Beego | 1 Beego | 2024-11-21 | 1.9 LOW | 4.7 MEDIUM |
The File Session Manager in Beego 1.10.0 allows local users to read session files because there is a race condition involving file creation within a directory with weak permissions.
