CVE-2024-50129 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2024-11-07 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: pse-pd: Fix out of bound for loop Adjust the loop limit to prevent out-of-bounds access when iterating over PI structures. The loop should not reach the index pcdev->nr_lines since we allocate exactly pcdev->nr_lines number of PI structures. This fix ensures proper bounds are maintained during iterations.

The problem is encoutered with tests added by commit 38608ee7b690 ("bpf, tests: Add load store test case for tail call") This happens because tail call is done to a BPF prog with a different stack_depth. At the time being, the stack is kept as is when the caller tail calls its callee. But at exit, the callee restores the stack based on its own properties. Therefore here, at each run, r1 is erroneously increased by 32 - 16 = 16 bytes. This was done that way in order to pass the tail call count from caller to callee through the stack. As powerpc32 doesn't have a red zone in the stack, it was necessary the maintain the stack as is for the tail call. But it was not anticipated that the BPF frame size could be different. Let's take a new approach. Use register r4 to carry the tail call count during the tail call, and save it into the stack at function entry if required. This means the input parameter must be in r3, which is more correct as it is a 32 bits parameter, then tail call better match with normal BPF function entry, the down side being that we move that input parameter back and forth between r3 and r4. That can be optimised later. Doing that also has the advantage of maximising the common parts between tail calls and a normal function exit. With the fix, tail call tests are now successfull: test_bpf: #0 Tail call leaf jited:1 53 PASS test_bpf: #1 Tail call 2 jited:1 115 PASS test_bpf: #2 Tail call 3 jited:1 154 PASS test_bpf: #3 Tail call 4 jited:1 165 PASS test_bpf: #4 Tail call load/store leaf jited:1 101 PASS test_bpf: #5 Tail call load/store jited:1 141 PASS test_bpf: #6 Tail call error path, max count reached jited:1 994 PASS test_bpf: #7 Tail call count preserved across function calls jited:1 140975 PASS test_bpf: #8 Tail call error path, NULL target jited:1 110 PASS test_bpf: #9 Tail call error path, index out of range jited:1 69 PASS test_bpf: test_tail_calls: Summary: 10 PASSED, 0 FAILED, [10/10 JIT'ed]

CVE-2024-6615 2024-11-06 N/A 8.8 HIGH
Memory safety bugs present in Firefox 127 and Thunderbird 127. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 128 and Thunderbird < 128.
CVE-2024-47137 1 Openatom 1 Openharmony 2024-11-06 N/A 7.8 HIGH
in OpenHarmony v4.1.0 and prior versions allow a local attacker cause the common permission is upgraded to root and sensitive information leak through out-of-bounds write.
CVE-2024-47797 1 Openatom 1 Openharmony 2024-11-06 N/A 7.8 HIGH
in OpenHarmony v4.1.0 and prior versions allow a local attacker cause the common permission is upgraded to root and sensitive information leak through out-of-bounds write.
CVE-2023-47039 2 Microsoft, Perl 2 Windows, Perl 2024-11-06 N/A 7.8 HIGH
A vulnerability was found in Perl. This security issue occurs while Perl for Windows relies on the system path environment variable to find the shell (`cmd.exe`). When running an executable that uses the Windows Perl interpreter, Perl attempts to find and execute `cmd.exe` within the operating system. However, due to path search order issues, Perl initially looks for cmd.exe in the current working directory. This flaw allows an attacker with limited privileges to place`cmd.exe` in locations with weak permissions, such as `C:\ProgramData`. By doing so, arbitrary code can be executed when an administrator attempts to use this executable from these compromised locations.
CVE-2021-46772 2024-11-05 N/A 3.9 LOW
Insufficient input validation in the ABL may allow a privileged attacker with access to the BIOS menu or UEFI shell to tamper with the structure headers in SPI ROM causing an out of bounds memory read and write, potentially resulting in memory corruption or denial of service.
CVE-2024-20114 2 Google, Mediatek 11 Android, Mt6765, Mt6768 and 8 more 2024-11-05 N/A 6.7 MEDIUM
In ccu, there is a possible out of bounds write due to a missing bounds check. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with System execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. Patch ID: ALPS09037038; Issue ID: MSV-1714.
CVE-2021-4034 7 Canonical, Oracle, Polkit Project and 4 more 31 Ubuntu Linux, Http Server, Zfs Storage Appliance Kit and 28 more 2024-11-05 7.2 HIGH 7.8 HIGH
A local privilege escalation vulnerability was found on polkit's pkexec utility. The pkexec application is a setuid tool designed to allow unprivileged users to run commands as privileged users according predefined policies. The current version of pkexec doesn't handle the calling parameters count correctly and ends trying to execute environment variables as commands. An attacker can leverage this by crafting environment variables in such a way it'll induce pkexec to execute arbitrary code. When successfully executed the attack can cause a local privilege escalation given unprivileged users administrative rights on the target machine.
CVE-2023-52351 2024-11-05 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In ril service, there is a possible out of bounds write due to a missing bounds check. This could lead to local denial of service with System execution privileges needed
